Using this traditional relief printing technique, we will make linocut prints.

Linocutting requires very little equipment and yet it allows you to produce striking works of art. This course will cater for both beginners and advanced students. We will start with black and white prints. However, colour printing techniques will also be taught for those who would like to explore this.

A 15x15cm linoblock will be provided for each student in the first class, as well as paper and ink for printing. Linocutting tools will be made available for students although you may wish to purchase your own set of tools for subsequent classes. A basic set costs about $13; a good quality set will cost about $130. We will discuss tools and materials in the first class.

Making Artist Books
Weekend Workshop
Saturday 4 May and Sunday 5 May 2013
10am to 3pm both days
Beginners to advanced students

In this weekend workshop, each participant will make an artist book, using drawing, collage, printmaking or photographs to create the content of their book. It would be helpful if you have a series of images or an idea in mind for your book.

Basic bookbinding techniques will be taught and by the conclusion of the workshop, you will have made a unique hardbound book of your own.

Many of the tools and materials you will need for this workshop are included in the course fee. On enrolment, you will be sent some information about what to bring.
