In my art practice, I most often express my visual ideas in works on paper: linocuts, illustrations for children's books, artist books, etchings, watercolours and drawings. Text is a frequent element in my work.
The smells of a printmaking studio with its etching inks, rosin, clove oil and zinc plates being warmed up to apply a soft ground, are intoxicating to me. Add to that a new etching plate (preferably with the edges already bevelled) or a nice fresh linoblock, and my imagination floats into another world.
